UEFA Best Player: What Ramos said about Ronaldo after Modric won award

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has said he was surprised to find out that Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo would not be showing up for the UEFA awards ceremony on Thursday.

Ronaldo, who was the Champions League highest goalscorer last campaign, was absent as individual prizes were handed out for last season because he was overlooked for the Player of the Year award, which went to his former Real Madrid team-mate, Luka Modric.

Modric on Thursday night won UEFA’s Men’s Player of the Year ahead of Ronaldo and Salah.

Ramos, however, said he expected Ronaldo to turn up for the gala, which coincided with the UEFA Champions League’s group stage draws, but added that it is a typical Ronaldo behaviour.

“We found out about Ronaldo’s absent practically when the microphones were being set up and we were surprised. But he does what he wants,” Goal quoted Ramos as saying.

“Being the captain is a great privilege and a responsibility to lead a great group with different cultures,” Ramos added

“Apart from being team-mates, it is important to be a family; we have always felt that way and it is the key to success. “We hope it lasts a while longer, because this is a golden age full of legendary players and I hope we can continue many years of celebrating these types of titles.”

I slept with your husbands – 7-year-old girl tells 2 Lagos housewives

A 7-year-old girl in Lagos State has exposed two married men who had abused her severally by telling their wives that she had slept with their husbands in their compound.

The incident happened at Sanusi Street in Shomolu area of Lagos where they resided. The suspects, Mr Osuntunbo Dare, 42 and Idowu Gbolahan, 29, have been arrested for defilement.

It was gathered that the 7-year old victim had been subjected to sexual abuse since 2017 when Mr Dare first defiled her and continued before Mr Gbolahan later joined in the act in 2018.

They were said to have continued but warned her not to tell anyone about what they were doing to her.

However, the alleged act of defilement got exposed after the mother of the victim suspected her, checked her private part only to discover that she had been deflowered.

The 7-year old then revealed what had happened, mentioning Gbolahan and Dare as being responsible for the dastardly act and their wives were informed about what had happened

The matter was reported to the police at the Gender Section of the Command which led to the arrest of the suspects and their detention for further interrogations.

The suspects reportedly knew that both of them were secretly sleeping with the victim after she confronted them before the police.

They were found culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the defendants and the victim were neighbours where she was subjected to constant abuse.

The court ordered them to be remanded in prison without taking their plea.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr Peter Nwaka, directed the prosecutor to duplicate their file and send to the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 24th September 2018.

The defendants may be jailed up to 10 years if the DPP finds them culpable and they get convicted for the alleged offence

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has entered into an emergency closed-door meeting with his commissioners and aides over his political future in the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the commencement of party primaries.

It was gathered that the governor has been in talks with key stakeholders of his cabinet following reports of a decision by the “godfather” of Lagos politics and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to withdraw support from his second term bid.

It was also learnt that the Governor is weighing the option of a last-minute defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or the Action Democratic Congress, ADC, both of which are part of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.

CIA agent confession on how he killed Bob marley

79-year-old Bill Oxley, ex-agent of America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has confessed that he killed Bob Marley, the reggae legend.

Marley tragically died aged only 36-years-old, following a four-year battle with cancer.

The story of cancer may seem untrue as startling claims have emerged from a deathbed confession made by an ex-CIA officer, where he admitted to the killing.

According to a report by the Daily Star,Oxley is alleged to have claimed the murder of Marley among 17 other assassinations for the American government between 1974 and 1985, at a time when he said the CIA “was a law unto itself.”

Oxley, who reportedly worked as an operative for the CIA for 29 years, is alleged to have said he was often used as a hitman on targets deemed to “represent a threat to the interests of the United States.”

In a purported interview shared widely online, he admitted having no problem with proceeding with the Bob Marley assassination because

“I was a patriot, I believed in the CIA, and I didn’t question the motivation of the agency – I’ve always understood that sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good.”

According to the conspiracy theory, Oxley used faked press credentials to gain access to Bob Marley at his Blue Mountain retreat; introducing himself as a famous photographer working for the New York Times, and gave Bob Marley a gift.

“I gave him a pair of Converse All Stars. Size 10. When he tried on the right shoe, he screamed out ‘OUUUCH.‘

“That was it. His life was over right there and then. The nail in the shoe was tainted with cancer viruses and bacteria. If it pierced his skin, which it did, it was goodnight nurse.”

“There had been a series of high-profile assassinations of counter-culture figures in the United States in the late sixties, early seventies. By the time Bob Marley’s time came around, we thought subtlety was the order of the day. No more bullets and splattered brains.”

Mr. Oxley says he kept close contact with Marley during the final years of his life, ensuring the medical advice he received in Paris, London and the United States “would hasten his demise rather than cure him.”

“The last time I saw Bob before he died he had removed the dreadlocks, and his weight was dropping like a stone,” he says.

“He was very withdrawn, unbelievably small. He was shrinking in front of us. The cancer had done it’s job.”

Although widely dismissed as fiction, the account does tally with findings by UK scientists in 2014, who discovered the mysterious acral melanomas – the rare type of skin cancer that caused reggae musician’s demise – was in fact not caused by the sun.

Bob Marley’s soon Ziggy has previously implied his Father was killed, saying in a 2013 interview about the death: “I don’t know what to believe … there are a lot of theories.”
