Photo: Kanye West causes a stir by rocking a President Trump ‘MAGA’ hat with a Colin Kaepernick sweatshirt.

American rapper, Kanye West is in the news again.

This time, the  rap mogul stepped out wearing a President Trump campaign hat and a Colin Kaepernick sweatshirt. He made an appearance on Thursday morning in the officers of New York music publication, The Fader.

According to Rolling Stone, West’s MAGA hat is not the same version offered at the president’s campaign store. The pairing is quixotic, to say the least. President Trump has been a harsh critic of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s invention of protesting during the national anthem, so wearing a Trump campaign hat with a shirt celebrating anthem protester Colin Kaepernick is quite a pairing. Almost like West is trying to keep his feet in both, opposing camps.

Simi Blasted On Twitter For Her Reaction To Osun State Election

Popular singer Simi took to the twitter yesterday to air her view about the just concluded Osun rerun elections, that saw the APC led administration return to power in the state; a development that was not well received by some Nigerians. The singer in reacting to the victory of APC asked:
“Why would you want to lead people that don’t want you to lead them? #stumped
And some social media users replied the question by attacking her severely. One referred to her as a ‘shameless bot that needs to be ignored’. And another asked “why would you want to release a song everyone don’t  want to listen to?” Andanother twitter usercalled her an ‘idiot’ for asking such a question, while one requested she directs her question to APC…

Beyonce Named Most Powerful Woman In Music By BBC

A panel of experts judging for BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour has named famous and amiable singer, Beyonce as the most powerful woman in music.
The selection was made by judges, which include British popstar Kate Nash, top producer Catherine Marks, and classical musician Jessica Duchen.

Beyonce came ahead of Taylor Swift who bagged the second position and Adele in fourth on their Women in Music Power List, which was announced on Friday 28th of September. Lower down the list were Cardi B, in 14th, SIA, at 15, Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell at 16, and Dua Lipa – who just made the top 20.
The show praised the singer for her charity work with her BeyGOOD Foundation and appreciated her for changing “the landscape of pop music” with songs “infused with political meaning” like those on her 2016 album Lemonade.

“My man can’t leave me because no woman sucks d**k better than me’ – Cardi B says (video)

Cardi B who returned to public space after an altercation with Nicki Minaj, took to Instagram to boast about why her man can’t leave her.
During a live video on IG recently, Cardi B told fans her husband Offset can’t leave her because she f**ks good and sucks d**k good.
[Offset] loves me. I f*ck good. I s*ck d*ck good.
I have the best head out here – what’s up.

The video came after the rapper was spotted with Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Meek Mill. While Cardi and Minaj may not be talking about each other or their New York Fashion Week fight-turned-feud, Cardi B’s latest photo op is being interpreted as some kind of statement.

Wayne’s mother, Jacida Carter, appears throughout the album, while the track “Dedicate” ends with a sample of Barack Obama talking about Wayne.

'Tha Carter V', which is rumoured to be Lil Wayne's last album was first mentioned by the rapper far back in July 2012, with his fans excited that the album would likely arrive the following year.
The album however failed to arrive and as the year went by, Lil Wayne got involved in a number of legal drama, health issues and fell out with former label boss, Birdman, that saw him shift his attention to other projects like ''I Am Not a Human Being'' released in 2013, the ''Dedication'' series and a number of other collaborative efforts.
The fifth installment of the Wayne series, that began in 2014 is now out, on the same day he celebrates his 36th birthday.

Prince Charles to visit Nigeria, others

Prince Charles to visit Nigeria, others

                              Prince Charles

Nigeria will be the first point of arrival of Prince Charles in his planned visit to three African countries  starting on Oct. 31. The prince is expected  to acknowledge the slavery past of an historic African fort when he visits the continent with the Duchess of Cornwall

Clarence House has announced Charles and Camilla are to tour the Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria during October and November, countries in a region synonymous with the slave trade. In Ghana the heir to the throne will visit the 17th century Christiansborg Castle, once a Danish slave fort and later owned by Britain.

Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Charles’ deputy private secretary, said about the prince’s visit to the site: “What we will almost certainly see is an acknowledgement of that site, of the darker side of the fort’s history and that part of the past, and the story of that region.” Until a few years ago the fort, in the capital Accra, was the seat of Ghana’s government after independence, and Charles stayed in the building when he visited the country in 1977. Over the centuries the royal family were involved in the slave trade from Elizabeth I, who supported the lucrative dealings of John Hawkins, one of Britain’s first slave traders, to the Duke of Clarence, later William IV, who opposed slavery abolitionists. Charles and Camilla’s trip begins on October 31 with the prince spending nine days in the region, while the duchess’s tour ends after seven, following their first day in Nigeria

Lai Mohammed expresses satisfaction in Osun rerun election, commends INEC for job welldone

Lai Mohammed expresses satisfaction in Osun rerun election, commends INEC for job welldone

Minister of Information and chairman of the APC media Campaign Council for the Osun governorship election, Lai Mohammed,  has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of Thursday’s supplementary election in the state, saying with the result, the people have emphatically pitched their tent with the ruling party.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Thursday, Lai Mohammed on behalf of the council, congratulated the Governor-elect, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the outgoing Governor, His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola and the entire APC family for the well deserved but hard-earned victory.

He commended INEC and the security agencies for a largely peaceful and orderly election, as attested to by local and international observers.

The Council said the biggest winner in the whole election saga is democracy, and gave the credit to the good people of Osun as well as the ruling APC, which did not hesitate to submit to the democratic process despite the high stakes.

any room for a rerun as it would have hijacked the main election, with its brigandage, rigging and total disdain for the democratic process. But as a party of change, we believe strongly in the democratic process. We believe in the ability of the relevant institutions to carry out their assigned responsibilities and we believe in the ability of the people to do what is right. In the end, the good people of Osun did what is right by ensuring the shellacking of the PDP. This is the right thing to do, considering the impressive performance of the APC government in Osun in the last eight years,” it said.

The Council advised the PDP to stop issuing threats and to take full advantage of the democratic process if it has any grouse with the supplementary election.
”When the PDP led in the main election, which was declared inconclusive, we did not threaten fire and brimstone, neither did we drag the International community into it. We simply went along with the prescribed process. We urge the PDP to emulate this,” it said.

The Council also called on INEC and the security agencies to ensure that the PDP thugs, fake observers and vote buyers who were arrested during the rerun are all brought to justice expeditiously.

PDP governorship candidate in the Osun state rerun election, Ademola Adeleke, has rejected the result announced by INEC early this morning in which the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, was declared winner of the rerun.

Speaking to newsmen after the results were announced by the electoral body, Adeleke said there was no election in Osun state. He vowed to challenge the results at the state tribunal and retrieve the mandate given to him by the people

It will be foolish to allow this 419 result to stand. The party will meet and I believe that the tribunal is the next step to take. Adeleke’s mandate can’t be stolen, it will be retrieved. The wish of the people will stand at the end.”
