Court bars police from arresting dancing senator, Ademola Adeleke 



An Osun State High Court sitting in Ejigbo has granted an order restraining the police from arresting PDP governorship candidate in tomorrow September 22nd governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Adeleke had approached Justice Yinka Aderibigbe to sought the order after the police on Tuesday asked him to appear at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on the allegation of certificate forgery. President Muhammadu Buhari however stopped the police from the invitation.

The restraining order reads
“An order restraining the respondents, their agents or privies from taking any steps  by way of arresting and/or detaining the applicant, that will infringe on the liberty and freedom of the applicant to prepare for and participate in the Osun State  governorship election of 22nd of September, 2018 and thereafter, pending the determination of the substantive application. And for such order or further orders as this Honorable Court may deem for to make in the circumstances of this application.
“Upon reading the application and affidavit of Ademola Adeleke, male, Muslim, Public Officer, Nigeria citizen of Ademola Adeleke Country Home, Ede, Osun State of Nigeria. Sworn to and filed at the High Court Registry, Ejigbo, on 20th, September 2018. 

 “And after hearing from Mr Kanmi Ajibola, counsel  for the applicant  where he moved the motion, the court then ordered as follows: An order is granted restraining the respondents, their agents or privies from taking any steps by way of arresting and or detaining the applicant that will infringe on the liberty and freedom of the applicant to prepare for and participate in the Osun State Governorship election of 22nd of September at the substantive application. The return date shall be Thursday, 27th September 2018.”
